Recently when I go to start my engine the initial warning light/buzzer does not come on. Some other info: the manual buzzer/light switch at the control panel does work; the engine starts and runs fine; when I shut the engine down, the buzzer/warning light does come on but only for an instant. I think its a loose/corroded electrical connection somewhere. Any ideas on where to look? Thanks. Dan Aquila 33.5

Isolating the Problem

Dan, that warning that you hear upon start up is low oil pressure, because the engine oil pressure is not up yet. Find the wire on the oil pressure sensor on the engine, disconnect the wire and connect it to the engine block, and the horn should sound. If it does then the problem is probably in the sensor. If it does not then the problem is probably in the wiring or connections.
