I have a Yanmar 2YM15 and the tachyometer failed just after the warranty expired. Dealer and Yanmar was no help to me of course.. Wondering if anyone knows of a place I can send the broken one for repair? It’s been properly troubleshooted and definitely is the tach. If my 1982 911 Porsche odometer can be repaired I assume there must be someone who can repair this ?. Thank you !

What is the make of the tachyometer (I like the way that sounds) ? If the name on it is Yanmar, it become a little more difficult. High end tachs may indicate what the problem is. Manufacturers will only service their own products and this is not worth servicing. Tell us exactly what has been done to troubleshoot the tach and maybe we can add something to that.

At the very worst, a new VDO tach (better than the Yanmar tach) will only cost you about $100.00 and I doubt you'll find anyone to repair your tach for $100.00.

What does it look like and in what way did it fail? I’ve seen guides for replacing various components but it’s hard to say which ones may apply depending on what’s broken.
