Has anyone seen or does anyone have a yanmar 2qm15 diesel powering an albin vega? I am looking at one for my boat (hull 1011) and also would like some advice if you have any experience in the install of this engine. Thanks / Hans

Hans, It is a very tight fit. Very little access for things like checking the oil or changing the air filter. Also more horsepower than needed and higher fuel consumption than I expected. I thought I'd burn about a quart (liter) an hour and used twice that. That is with a Yanmar 2GM. I assume the dimensions are similar. I'd go with the Beta if doing it over. Thanks Walt... Beta certainly is the engine of choice it seems. Would love to find a slightly used unit that comes closer to fitting my budget.. Thanks again / May have to splurge for a new one... /. HansSent from my iPad

I agree, go with a Beta: easy to install, easy to service, easy on
fuel.

Garry- Thanks for the reply !! Within the last day I have found a Beta that is new but warranty has run out. It has a transmission butI believe these go in direct drive if I am not mistaken on Vegas. Thanks again / HansSent from my iPad
