I am having a problem starting my Yanmar 1gm. It cranks fine but is hard to start no matter what the ambient temperature. Fuel supply seems fine. Once it is warmed up there is no problem at all restarting it. I have checked the compression release and it is OK and works correctly. I had a friend with a Volvo Penta engine with the same problem. In his case it was lack of compression traced to the head gasket. Has anyone had the same problems. I think that a replacement of the head gasket will remedy the problem. Does anyone know what the compression in the engines one cylinder should be? Thanks for the help. Keith
