Yanmar 1 GM Fresh Water Cooling

Has anyone added a fresh water cooler system to this engine? If so where did you buy it?Jim

Is there a problem with the raw-water cooling?

I have read there are less problems with fresh water systems, engines last longer, etc and am looking into the options. Any advise would be appreciated Jim

f/w cooling sys

F/W cooling sys is alot better as far as I'm concerened. you'll have to get a fresh water pump and a cooler with somekinda of mounting bracket, all the parts you need should be available at yanmar dealer, make sure you purchase all the zinks needed.. Jim,I ran across some information about seawater vs freshwater cooling on the 1gm10 engine. It certainly has been converted, but the consensus seems to be that it was'nt worth the effort. See the link below and go to the discussion forum. Do a search on the 1gm10 and you will see several good threads on a variety of engine topics.Hope this helpsWard
