I have a Yamaha 25 in Portland Oregon and like her very well. The boat is easy to single hand and is very well behaved under power. The forward engine seems to balance crew weight in the cockpit, but offshore, she has a tendency to submarine.

I have spent a lot of time hunting the Internet for tips and tricks. I have found a few sites about this boat:

is not updated very often, but is very good

short review and some pictures

I have done a lot of work on mine - rebuilt the engine, new cushions, new bottom paint, wiring - and feel like I know it pretty well. I do have a YSM8 manual and the Yamaha 25 owners manual. They are too large to email, I might be able to share copies.

I have spent long weekends aboard, but really find her too small for longer cruises. I think I'd really need to upgrade the port-a-potty if I were gonna spend a week aboard. Not sure what I can do to get standing headroom, (I sure like those Yamaha 30s)

If you've found more information on these great boats, let me know.
