Columbia stays

I've just purchased a Col. MarkII 26ft built 1970. The boat was dismasted by Charley and was able to purchase another mast form a MarkII of approximately the same vintage. The original mast had single inner stays. The mast I purchased has double inner stays. I would like to use the double stay configeration since it adds strength to the mast. My question is what do I use for chain plates, how to secure them and in what area ? Anyone know ? Marty
