I don't like it. To hard to navigate. When did they change or WHY did they mess up a good thing? Must be a college graduate at work (what I say when something that doesn't need to be fixed gets broken on purpose just because it's a change.)

Buggie web site

I think they have some serious bugs in the web site. There are many boats listed with strange length. There are many sail boat longer than Panamax. 3542' Bavaria Bavaria 34

This is silly

But a bavaria 34 is 10.80 meters. 10.80m = 35.4 feet. 1080 meters = 3542 feet! I think they secretly use the metric system, and somebody forgot a period. I say they use the metric system, because if you click "send an email" it headers the email with the boat length in meters.

Good goof

I like to have that person to work in our payroll department. I'll even buy him dinner if he fix my pay cheque the same way ;-)

Change is good... NOT!

I have to agree with the difficulty searching specifics... used to be easy to navigate but now, not so much.

Change is like Death & Taxes - Inevitable!

Resistance is Futile! I have not checked Yachtworld yet but if the bone of contention here is metrics, well get used to it, it is progress and the direction the rest of the world is going. USA is one of the group of stragglers still dragging their feet and need to get with the program. I grew up learning both systems so I understand both and can think in both. I do admit though, that the length units take some getting used to especially being a northern neighbor to USA, we still tend to think in non-metric units and when making comparisons in boat dimensions it is difficult to do while thinking in feet and reading in meters. If USA went metric with the rest of the world it would be a non-issue. Only Father Time can solve this one when he finally puts all the old school thinkers six feet under.

to Phil

It was so fast before checking specifics. When the info popped up, it was in line form and you could pick and choose. It was kind of like the Cliff's Notes version of a search, and when you found what you were looking for, you could then get the specific's. Now, there is a line with pictures etc and to get from one spot to the other is a pain. Say you want to look for an Irwin 37. You typed it into the boat specifics as MAKE - Irwin Size 37 to 37 and hit enter and there they were. All the listings for Irwin 37's. Cannot do that now.

try this

From the home page, click on the "boats for sale" link in the upper right. Then enter 'radar' as a keyword, and type Irwin and 37 in the mfg and length field. You get three results really fast. Unless I'm misunderstanding your point. I didn't design the site, but I can see some improvements in it. Although it will require learning how to use the new interface.

Same old with make-up

Well, as it turns out it is not a metric issue. I just spent an hour on YachtWorld and it seems to be the same old site with new make-up on. I clicked on Browse by - State/province then saw the Advance Search button at the top, clicked that and behold - same old interface, you can search on any criteria you want. So much for my metrics rant, I was wrong. After doing a few different searches it seemed same as before, even has standard measurements. The new look and feel is actually a nice touch.

Slight Improvement

I checked it out and and find some things better and others worse. What I did not like was how the search results list was displayed. Gives more info but much harder to scan the list than the old simple list format. I liked that much better. When I heard it changed I was hopeful they did something I asked for. I sent an e-mail a while ago suggesting they do a "my yachtworld" type of thing. You can create an account, store searches, add boats to a watch list when you find something you like, keep notes on each boat, things like that. Think my ebay. No luck. I think it is still the best boat search site I have found and it still is. I really wish they would do a my yachtworld type of thing. When I truly start to search for my next boat something like that where I can create a list of boats I am interested in would be great.

Re: Slight Improvement

I think you can do that on yachtworld now; its not exactly what you want but it works for me. Here's a link
