To all vegas
Sometime this year I shall be sailing up the
Bristol Channel to the Cardiff Barrage. All
the best anchourages in this area dry out &
YachtLegs seem to be of a necessity. Does
anyone have any advise on drying out harbours
& whether Legs are a viability.

I don't have a clue ! But there is a Pat Breen up in Ireland who was in the process of building some yacht legs last march for his Vega. He might be of some assistance. I no longer have his e-mail address, but I noticed he is listed in the group, so you should be able to e-mail him from there, or if he is a member of the British Vega association, then Steve might be able to help. When searching for his name look under the letter "P" for Pat rather than "B" for Breen.
Good look.

Hi Frank.
Funnily enough I have just received some technical notes which include a detailed diagram of beaching legs. All I need now is someone to tell me
whether they are a good idea or not.
thanks for your help
regards
John

Hi John,

would it be possible to scan the diagrams and make them available to
the group?

I also would love some sea legs I have always envied the British
sailboats with two keels and could sit in the mud. On Susia Island
in the San Juan's in Washington State there is a harbor called Shoal
Cove and while the rest of the cove was packed and boats fighting
over mooring buoys there was a loan twin keel British build sloop
and they had that half of the bay to them self's. Any way do you
real think the Vega keel could take the strain of lying in the mud
if it could HAY BABY!

Sucia Island Marine State Park was Shallow Bay not Shoal Cove. Also
if anyone has plans or an ideas for the sea legs I have created a 3D
model I could match them up to it.

Hi All

My first Vega (Toria II) had a set of legs and I was forever using them to lay in sand and mud. Also used for launching and retreiving each season with a tractor/trailer that our club used. Easy to make and work well. The other option is to buy a set of professional legs from "The Yacht Leg Company" based in the UK.

Kind Regards
