I have been a member of lots of yachting clubs, including some in the UK, with Roya in the title. There like any other club, membership is an individual thing, their is no such thing as family membership, every member of a family has to join on their own, and pay their own fees. I was a member of one club, that has several different kinds of members, but again it was all individual. You had members who could use the bar, but not any other facilities and couldnt vote, you had members that could use the bar, the gymnasium, showers, and saunas, but couldnt vote, you had standard members, that could use all facilities including the club boats, and could vote, (in the AGM) you had members that had been members for twenty years, and no longer paid membership because they were now life members, they could vote and use all the facilities, then you had out of port members, they were members who paid lower fees, due to they were never there, had a fixed adress a given distance away, but, could use all the facilties and could vote.
Me, i am a socialist, i think everyone should have paid the exact same amount.
