hi on a 1999 hunter 310 i have a macerator and holding tank. the owners manual talks about a y valve for direct discharge. has this been installed on all production boats and where is it located? thanks alan

If you have one, it will be in the head discharge line

near the toilet...one side will go to the tank, the other side to an overboard discharge thru-hull that may be the same thru-hull your macerator pump uses. However, it's unlikely that one was installed by Hunter...the manual most likely refers to an option available on boats in coastal waters that have immediate access to open sea beyond the "3 mile limit," which is the only place where it's legal to flush directly overboard OR dump a tank...which would also make your macerator pump somewhat useless.
