anyone have it? Is it worth the $? I got a quote for $999 for a computer interface and $49 per month for service. its supposed to have nation-wide nextrad live radar, that would be a hell of a step up from weather-fax. Can anyone comment on its reliability and data quality?

We just tried it on a display Garmin chartplotter at the local WM and it seems to be a great way to go - eliminates the need for a laptop and interface (and their $$$) as long as you already have the appropriate display. The only problem I noticed was the difficulty reading all that info (chartplotter, radar and weather) on a small display - the 6 or 8 inch screens both seemed to be too cluttered but was easily viewed on the 10 inch. Don

I have taken a look for my new boat next season, its an option for the Garmin Chartplotter. They claim you can dodge storm cells with this thing. If it does not become available as an option on the E-80 series raymarine chartplotter by February, I might switch over to purchasing Garmin instead just to get this feature integrated into the larger display.

i wouldnt mind changing from my C80
but the garmen radar antenna is frekin huge, it seems like its 2x bigger than the raymarine, no way it will mount on my mast, plus, it actualy costs more.
