Xintec S-1a wiring installation question

I am replacing my old Seaward propane control with a new Xintec S-1A and have a question about the wiring. The old Seaward has three lines running to it: pos (red), neg (black), and to the solenoid (blue).

The Xintex has 4 wires pos (red), neg(black), and two yellow wires one of which runs to the Solenoid. My understanding from the Xintec wiring diagram is that the second yellow is a second 12 volt pos. if this is the case can I split off the existing pos (red) to feed the xintec pos (red) and the xintec pos (yellow). The diagram indicates that the Xintec red pos requires a .5A inline fuse which I would add.

1. Are you using your own existing solenoid valve or
2. Are you installing a solenoid valve that came with the S-1A package?

My plan was to use the existing solenoid as I replaced the entire propane installation last year so the solenoid is new. Not to say I wouldn't use the S-1A solenoid if it's easier.

Not any easier. Just wired different. I have the S-2A model.

The wiring diagram for the S-1A shows a slight difference for wiring their solenoid vs a prewired one, talking about cutting wire. But not really. You use the two yellow/red wires from the control head to provide a positive side 12vdc connection to the solenoid. The control head acts as a switch in the positive side connection. The other wire from the solenoid provides the ground connection to complete the circuit.

So one of the yellow/red wires is connected to battery Positive side. Put 1 amp fuse in the line near the battery end of the wire run. I would use a busbar with a constant connection to the positive side of house battery (no wire splitting).

The other yellow/red wire connects to the lead from the solenoid.

The controller has a red and black lead. These provide power for the controller. The red lead can be connected to the same positive side busbar. Be sure to add a 1 amp fuse to the red wire coming off the busbar. The black lead gets connected to ground.

Do not let the cutting remark cause any issue. If you already have the solenoid hard wired to a switch providing 12vdc positive connection, the directions indicate cutting the wire and using the wire by connecting the controller in series on that line. Plus adding a 1 amp inline fuse to the line.

Fuses are to protect the wires not the controller. That is why the. 1 amp size to match the wire size. Installed on the positive side and close to the battery source. In this case the busbar. Within 7inches is recommended.
