Wrenching Groco ball valve to Groco seacock flange

The seacock project has the backing plate installed and setting up with the Six10 as the bedding. Thanks Woodster....

Next question is how far do you wrench-turn the ball valve onto the flange once you get it hand tight?

The plan is to wrench the valve and flange together before SekaFlex 291 ' ing the flange to the backing plate. The ihopes Is to finish up with the handle where I need it

I've got 2 guys in the boat yard saying at least one full turn. Makes me worry about ever getting the ball valve off for replacement.

Anyone have some experience here?

It's just a standard NPT to NPT plumbing thread connection. Use pipe dope and do at least 1 full turn. You'll get it by feel..

Thanks for the advice on the wrenching. Your "How To" on Seacocks made the job very easy.

Looking at what the project would have cost with a professional installer and the $40 donation to your site seems like the least I could do.
