Just replacing the belt
My unit is approaching its third anniversary so warantees are out. My clutch seems to work fine, but it seems to me that the threads of the reinforcing belts are subject to unusual wear. Not sure if that's a design fault or because I am at the upper limit of their stated capacity (a Hunter 37 - about 16k lbs or so). These belts costs around $60 -$70 from Simrad so I am planning to re-use the belt by cutting out the damaged thread - Its possible the thread (which was on the edge of the belt), wore because of a rubbing action and not a tearing action. If thats true then I may get away re-using it. Anyway, this is the second time this has happened, the first time Simrad covered the belt under the warantee. I fix it myself and have become adept at putting the pieces back together.RogerDestiny - Hunter 37"Committing solecisms that society will never pardon"
