There are often masts placed for sale. I didn't buy a mast, I bought a main sail. If you do a search on Ebay you can easily find if there are any for sale. There are also many websites that have used sailing gear for sale. Good luck.

You can get a new Mast from Blue Water Yachts in Seattle. They are the largest Mac dealer in the US. They will ship it to you. http://www.bwyachts.com/

eBay works both ways.

And I've sold a couple of used Genoas via eBay auctions. The sails were in nice condition. I received, and the buyer(s) payed, fair value. For eBay transactions, it is most critical that the seller accurately describe the goods. AND past and future Positive Feedback Ratings are of utmost importance.

Ebay feedback and masts etc

Friend of mine bought a couple things from a guy on ebay, payed as soon as he was notified, the guy never contacted him to verify reciept or anything, Charlie sent an email, no response, called him, got an answering machine left a message. A week later he sent another email and called again, next week he did the same, next week (third one) he sent two emails and left two or three messages on the machine, called up ebay to see what he could do about it, got ahold of his credit card company to cancel the payment, the guy gave charlie bad feedback claiming he was trying to get out of paying for his purchase and was too impatient to deal with Masts are pretty easy to find if you look around, I am thinking about turning my boat into a yawl and find them everywhere, best advice I can give is to look for a few boats that have the same specs and look at owners sites for those boats, owner sites for your boat are especially good as they'll normally have someone on there that knows other boats that match up Buying used can lead to some problems shipping, I tried shipping a shorter mast a while ago, and most shippers were pretty happy to say "NO!" trucking or picking it up yorself is the best option there. The boating world realy needs something like the hollander interchange manual that junk yards use for car part swaps Ken.

Ebay-good and bad

While I, too, have scored pretty well on Ebay, you can't always be sure. Since you buy the item often before you have the option of in-person inspection, you can get "stung". While I outfitted a pretty extensive recording studio with a lot of stuff from ebay from smaller items only costing a couple hundred$$ to units over 1.5 K (obviously music can cost more than golfing and boating combined), I very rarely had an item show up "DOA". With this said, I foolishly purchased on Ebay what was supposed to be a 1 yr old outboard with only a few hours on it for my Venture. The motor showed up with a damaged cowl despite the $100+ shipping fees and insurance which i never managed to collect. the shipping company then shipped the motor back to the origin point pending claim. I then haggled with the seller who eventually shipped it back to me, with it arriving at the end of september(from a May purchase!)With the cowl still broken, of course. Since we're coming out of one of the coldest winters in Jersey for some time, I still haven't even started this motor!
