I sent this same meme out to a bunch of other old Air Force guys I know. I wondered though as I was deciding who to send it to if they were neither flyer nor a flightline guy or if they were too young to know what a lens cap was if they'd get it. I got it right away my wife did not. Took a bit of explaining for her to get it.

They hang wavy red ribbons from pitot tubes because some pilots took off with the cover still on. Then complained of no airspeed indicating.

My 30 year old daughter didn't get right away either
She was familiar with "remove before flight" streamers but not covers. Had to describe forgetting to remove a lens cap too.

BTW, word is the F-35 the Brits just lost was due to an inlet cover not being removed. Guess they will have a longer streamer on them shortly.
