Would an H23 right herself after a knock down if all hatches were battened shut?

Certainly should

Although the h23's keel is on the light side, like any keel boat she should right herself unless driven beyond her stability point, which is probably around 120 degrees. It's almost never wind that rolls a keel boat. It's the waves that can drive one beyond the stability point to an inverted position. The 23's capsize screen of 2.37 does mean that she would be hard to right once rolled over, but this is normal for a week-ender type keel boat of her length. David Lady Lillie
