I hope I get the terminology right so y'all can understand my problem. I own a 1987 Hunter 23 with a Z spar mast. The assembly at the top, with 2 blocks (jib and spinnaker halyard blocks) and the forestay attachment point has a jib block sheave (pully) that is totally worn out. The sheave is worn on one side clear through to the pin. My question is. How to I remove that riveted assembly to replace the sheave and how can I reinstall it? It seems that if I remove the rivets it will just fall into the mast. Has anyone else had this problem?

To remove the sheaves drill the two rivots out. The sheave will not fall into the mast. The sheave actually sits on top of the cut out for the mast. You can get a replacement from Boat US or West Marine. Simply rivot the new one in its place. Did it a few years ago when adding spinaker gear to my H240

The Us spars web site has diagrams for all the masts as well that give some visual information.
