Hi gang,

Sounds painful, but there's good news on the horizon. Over the last several months we've been getting our boat(s) in order and I have been making piles of gear and supplies in our spare room. Someone :)naughty:) has rearranged the piles because they weren't neat. :bang:

It's crunch time so I'm packing the car with stuff I hope we need for recommisioning, final buffing, and the trip to Maine. The confusion starts when I can't find something that I put on the pile weeks ago and can't find it. "Where's the little orange bag?" (only two of us in the house) "It should be right there." (standard reply)

We were at our friends house yesterday and the women were talking family so I tuned them out until I heard the term "Man looking". Was her daughter getting married? Nope. "It's how you guys look for stuff! A three second scan of a room then call for help." Whaaaaat?

It was a quiet ride back to our house, but I kept somewhat cool. I advanced the pile to the glass slider and announced "Here's the stuff for tomorrow." There is now a huge pile in front of the door and I'll start packing the car after breakfast. Next week when we sail from Newport I hope everything is onboard.

BTW if I hear "Fizzsseesheriznishbizseeeshooshfizshish" on the radio I'll reply "Strider, is that you?"

I completely misunderstood the title and assumed it had something to do with mooring between a bow and stern concrete pillar, that can be painful if you get it wrong.

In our case "she" has either repackaged it or moved it to some place that only she knows but does not remember what she did with it either.

"Yes dear, I will look again" (but it is still not there).

"It was exactly where I put it, but all the other stuff around it got moved."

Look up the meaning of camouflaged. :)

PS: All U Get

Many definitions of the same word. Which goes along with this title too!

Yeah, I thought I got rid of those when I retired. I think Stu is right on, the military could take lessons from her. I found the bag but I think she just remembered where it was and put it out for me. Like Easter egg hunting. I did get a picture of the dry items now that the batteries for the camera are recharged. (I had to wait until my wife came back from her morning run to find the charger.)

When I have something in hand that I know I will need later, I always put it in a place where it will not get lost... I usually spend hours looking for those items at a later date.;)

It is even more fun when you are married to a multiple personality. With eleven individuals in there and some times not talking to each other life is a circus. Nancy can look at an empty tea cup and be completely bewildered as to why it is empty.

There's always "making a list..." --- doesn't have to wait for Christmas! :):):)

There's still the "Where'd I PUT that little bugger?" but at least you'll know what's missing.

Piles can be a problem no matter what form or meaning they take.... I'm just glad that all the marinas in socal are floating docks, that there are plastic baskets, and that a genius/saviour invented the inflatable donut.

Well we're on board and spent the day stowing and re-connecting the fresh water system. We're following Peggie's advice for recommisioning the tanks and lines and should be all set. The only things I left at home are the shop-vac and water line adapters, made due without.
Got some of that Charles Shaw wine for tonight's meal, now where's that opener.

any married guy who says he runs the house, will lie about other things too.

You just have to know where you stand i guess/
