I've replaced all my old flooded type batteries with sealed AGM's and I'm liking them alot, but the strong smell of old cooked battery acid from the previous bank is driving me nuts. My battery bank is in the port side aft bulkhead under the cockpit seat. I've washed down the locker floors and walls with various cleansers but the smell doesn't go away. I suspect it has permeated into the fiberglass and is embedded there. The odors seep through to topsides in the cockpit while your trying to enjoy a pleasant sunset. It doesn't make it into the main cabin or bunk areas. Is there any miracle cure that will absorb the odors and not just mask them? I doubt that the concentration of gas is dangerous - explosive/or to breathe- but maybe it is. Its been about a year for the change over, and its not going away. Also it is way unlikely that the source is new or current due to the sealed nature of the new banks. I'm thinking about putting an exhaust fan in that compartment. And wait for the cure to come out. Peggy, is this part of your thing? Please help if you canDan 1987 H 45 legend
