Interlux Micron Extra WM=$244.99, price match Defender at 188.95 plus ~$12.00 shipping plus $10.00 tax minus $50.00 WM rebate check(to spend anywhere) = $159.99. Not to mention the boat club bucks and $1.00 for boat cleaner when you buy 1 gallon Micron Extra.

Depends where you live.

Where ever I have lived in the past, WM was always overpriced. Now that I'm in Kemah, Tx. just outside Houston, WM prices are not always the highest. Everyone here is way overpriced. On a positive note, WM usually will have things that others dont keep in stock.

OK I’ll try that again, why only part of the 1st sentence went through I have no idea. Bluewater Marine Paint, top of the line 67 w slime block, is $199/gal. BW 67 has 67% copper as opposed to Interlux at 61% solids (whatever that means). I think I remember the Interlux copper being in the mid 50% range, but I don't see them publishing that any where these days, at least I haven't found it yet. I have used the 45, 45% copper, for years with out any problems, $165/gal with slime control, $119 without, no sales tax unless in NJ. There may be a $20 packing charge. Their price has been creeping up, they use to be a lot cheaper than Interlux.

I am not an apologist

nor a supporter of WM, but would say that (1) they price match without a haggle; (2) they take stuff back without question; and (3) they mostly have what I need when I need it (site onsite at my marina is REALLY handy -- how many times have you started a project on your boat only to find you are missing one item? I just walk over to the WM at Herrington and they have it.) Last year I bought some bottom paint on sale at Boater's World. This year, I walked into the WM at my marina and asked them to shake it for me. They did, without questioning where I bought it. They have also load-tested batteries for me that I bought elsewhere. That's nice. As far as I'm concerned, the copper content of a bottom paint isn't a good way to compare products. I've used bottom paints with relatively low copper content (38-42 per cent) that have outperformed other paints with much higher copper in them. Finally, I've noted how highly rated Bluewater Paints are. Where are they sold?
