Has any one got a wiring diagram for the main ac panel of a Hunter Legend 430 that they can email or fax to me. My email is hbdesign@xtra.co.nz Fax: + 64 9 360 7556 I have a problem with my Generator not connecting to my ac power grid and I don't have any info in my owner manual on wiring or how the relays handle incoming ac power. I have emailed Hunter tech support and they don't seem to have anything either. Regards Steve McTaggart

Wiring for Hunter 430

Steve, I don't have a wiring diagram, but the generator on our 430 is wired to the ac grid and yours should be too if it was a factory installation. (For example, do you have the fail proof switches on your electrical panel that allows you to switch from shore power to the genset?) We also have an invertor which can act as a battery charger by diverting any unused ac power to the batteries. On the back of the invertor's remote panel are a series of dip switches (see invertor's instruction manuel)which allows you to set the invertor for the amount of ac power coming into the boat (eg, 15, 20 30 or 50 amp) If you set the switch at 15 amp and you run the reefer and hot water tank (about 15 amps)using the genset, the invertor will not accept any more power from the genset to run anything else or charge the baterries. I only have 15 amps of shore power when I am at the dock so the dip switch must be set at 15 amps. But when we are cruising, I switch the dip switch to 30 amps and the genset works great - heats water, runs the reefer, charges the batteries and occassionally runs the AC. This may be a long shot, but check your dip switches to see if you are set at 15 amps. If so, set them to 30 and see if it makes a difference. Peter Milne S/V Blue Heron

Thanks Peter

Thanks for your reply, to answer your questions. Our generator is a factory installed Northern Lights Generator and we have a switche on our ac panel, marked "shore power / Generator". This switch is blocked off by a factory looking plate which means I cannot move the switch to the generator position and it is permainently switched on shorepower. The plate is removeable by unscrewing it but as I am unsure as to why it is even there I don't feel confident to try that. There are several relays being this switch and I suspected that when it sensed genterator power it would automatically switch to the ac grid. I also was interested to here that your genertaor occasionally runs the Air Con as I have another similar plate blocking my "C" ac panel to the "B" ac panel. (paralell B/C connection) On generator do you run one air con unit or can you run both? Thanks for your interest and help Steve McTaggart S/V Anescape
