Wiring A New Instrument

I just bought the Acugage 4-tank monitoring system to replace the Wema fresh water and holding tank instruments on my '97 280. The 3 wires from the sender units have to run through the headliner, around the head, through bulkheads, etc., to the control panel switch. I know that different model boats have different wiring configurations, but I would like any words of wisdom from anyone who has re-wired any instruments. Should I use a fish tape to thread the wires? What about using the existing sender wire from the Wema instruments to guide the path of the new wires? Any and all assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Use existing wire?

Unless you suspect wiring problems why not splice into the existing wire? The problem with using it as a messenger is that the wires are probably anchored in places that you do not have access to. I have lots of wiring experience but none with your boat. I have found on mine and others that wiring through the bilge is easiest. And the wire is always available for inspection or replacement.
