I am planning to install new instruments to my Hunter. Can anyone give me advice about the Tack/Tick wireless instruments that Raymarine has just bought out? Thanks Oneeyed coach

I installed a Tack/Tick wind speed/indicator on my Hunter 31 2 years ago and it works great.

Check Maine Sail's site. I think I remember him posting something about that type of instrument.

Tack tick

I have hasd them for 4 years and they have worked very well. I like them much better than the ones I replaced and you can carry them below deck at night and check the wind speed and direction while below in your bunk at night at anchor.

tac tick

I installed the wind, depth, speed, temp package last summer and its been working great for me so far, the earlier models had some issues that I think have been cleared up. install time about a weekend I had to make some teak plate covers to cover over my old instrement holes. Everything looks good and works great.

We've had a few seasons with the solar wind/speed/depth (vs. 12V hardwired models). No complaints so far, but others have had different experiences.

Take MS up on his offer and PM him. Undoubtedly he's seen a larger sample size and there's probably a very good reason he doesn't recommend them.
