I am planning on installing new instruments for my Hunter. Has anyone used the wireless instruments for their boat and how was the installaton??

If you are referring to Tack Tick please do yourself a favor and consider other options. These instruments have been major headaches for lots of boaters.

If I might suggest -- post also on AskAllSailors. Your question is not at all Cherubini specific. Much larger audience (and response potential) over there!

I installed a Tack/Tick wind speed/indicator on my Hunter 31 two (2) years ago and it has been very reliable and was low cost.

I think Tack Tick would be something you might consider. Lots of people buy them and are happy with them. Installation is a breeze because you don't have to run any wires between the unit heads. That keeps labor costs down if you are hiring someone to install them, but you can do it yourself too.

RayMarine owns them now. With lithium batteries and solar power, this would be ideal for my boat. Looks pretty spiffy. Maybe someone with direct experience will weigh in.

I've always said "The best advertisement for Garmin was RayMarine." I find the RayMarine product line tedious to use, they aren't conversational and or intuitive. What I have found with TacK Tick is they do drop off the signal occasionally. There may be a mast height that is better suited to the unit than others that may be taller. The other issue is the location of the receiving unit and interference from bulkhead or dodger or sail on a particular point of sail that may block the signal. This was on a friends Beneteau 38s5. As convenient as this system is to have installed I would still for the effort put a hard wired unit in.
