On the 82' Cat 27 it looks like the jib halyard sheaves are for wire cable. It looks like it will also handle a 5/16'' rope. Is there an advantage to either cable/rope setup vs an all rope halyard. The original halyard is missing. All rope just seems like it would be easier on the hands. I have had my hands cut and poked by frayed halyard cable on a friends boat. A 3/8'' rope cable combination I assume is the standard issue for this boat.
I am not looking to replace the main halyard, as I don't think the winch will handle 33 feet of rope.
