Wire to rope halyards

I would like to get rid of the wire to rope halyards on my cat 30 to all rope. Do I have to change anything on the mast head?

Sheaves

Just make sure the sheaves at the top of the mast are wide enough to accept the size halyard you're going to. It's possible that your sheaves will only accept wire. In that case, you will either have to replace the sheaves or (gulp!) stay w/wire-rope. Good luck!LaDonna

I have a 1982 catalina 30 and the sheavs are wide enough for rop only. You should use 3/8 inch for halyards unlike the previous owner of mine who went 5/8 and the jam at the top!
