Wire size for a Hunter 285?

I'm thinking of purchasing a roller furling over the internet for my Hunter 285. Does anyone know what the wire diameter/length for the forestay is? Thanx! Rene

28.5 Forestay Length

Rene: According to specs in the 28.5 Owners Manual the Forestay length is 39' 2" and is a 1/4" 1x19 SS. I had a Furlex furler installed on my boat and the new forestay length was 11.865 meters (38' 11"). My new forestay is 6mm. Hope this is of some help. Dave McIlveen 28.5 Osprey
