Nice job. How do they...

...work underway? It seems ideal for in the slip or at anchor, but possibly cumbersome while sailing. Do you remove them while sailing? Tom

You answered Tom's question, in that you used come-apart hinges to allow storage of the doors below while underway. My question is, how do you lock them and how do you lock the sliding hatch when the doors are in place? Dale

Sorry, I forgot to mention in the posting…

I have two door latches to install on them yet, and will re-install the original locking latch from the slider. Just never enough time on the boat. The port door can’t open without the other door open first, so that takes care of locking them both. One word of caution, our slip is aft (and slightly starboard) to the wind, and the wind will catch the starboard door and slam it shut. The type of sailing we do, the cabinway doors are usually off, but it’s the same situation as with slats. Depends on the weather and conditions, or if you need to tone out the “navigater” from below. Usual things.
