I can't offer much as I'm just getting to know my boat too but make sure there is no water in the sail drive. Look for milky colored oil it looks a bit like vanilla or butterscotch pudding. There are seals that need to be changed regularly that are under water. One keeps oil in the other water out. Depending on your latitude this could be an issue. As far as I know gear oil should be monitored and changed as well every 200 hours was what I was told. I'm doing it this year so I know what was done when. Also keep an eye on your anodes on the stern drive. Mine is aluminum and at risk of becoming an anode if all else fails. SC
