winterizing my 26 Hunter water ballast

This question is for THE CRAZY DAVE CONDON First of all I would like to say THANK YOU for returning my phone calls and e-mails , Because of all your help my wife and I had a very enjoyable trouble free 1st summer on our 26 Hunter:dance: . My question today is for winterizing my water ballast system , any an all pointers would be deeply appreciated. Again Many Many Thanks for everything. LEON

Are you wanting to keep the boat in the water for the winter on the Great Lakes. If so, pull it out and store it. Lakes freeze and so will the tank and freezing water expands and will do the number on the ballast tank.

If you are referring to storing the boat on the trailer, drain all the water out and leave the ballast tank open at the bottom and that is all there is to do. I would drain all the fresh water out of the 20 gallon fresh water holding tank.
