Hello, this is my 1st year owning a sailboat (90' Hunter) through the winter. I currently moor it in Lake Washington. There are topics in this forum about winterizing or pulling the speed sensor out. But given the mild winter we generally have in the Puget Sound area. Can some local owners give me some tip if they do any winterizing for their boat other than turn on the electric heater or put a light bulb into the engine compartment? Thanks

When we had our H28 I kept a small...
marine grade space heater running on low. It helped keep the boat dry and warm. I sail year around so I like coming to a warm boat. I also placed the cushions on edge, locker doors open and the engine compartment hatch open for easier engine starting. Terry

I do empty the water tank just in case we get a cold spell, but that is something you could do just based on the weather forecast. In February 2005 we were out sailing our daysailer because it was so mild out - we can always hope
