Anyone out there have a good way to winterize a cruise air system. I have two units in my boat, but I could only get anti-freeze to come out of one of the raw water exhuasts. Chuck

a/c winterize

Chuck, take the hose off at the strainer (pump side) and put it in a 5 gallon bucket of pink antifreeze Start system and drain bucket, you may need to "prime the pump" by pouring in some anti-freeze in the hose before you turn on the pump. This method work on my system and I have three a/c unit, should work for you also.

Tee & archive

Chuck, as to advised to others, the archived forums are a wonderful place to research this topic. The previous post is simple enough, but I would suggest installing a Tee fitting between the thru hull and the strainer. Plug the Tee during the season, and afterwoods put a fitting on it to connect a hose from the tee to the pink antifreeze bucket

What I do

1. Remove the raw water hose from the seacock. Use a small flathead screw driver to prey the hose off. Sometimes they are stuck on pretty good. 2. Attach a small 12 v dc pump or drill pump onto the hose. 2.a Stick the pump in a bucket. 3. Pump anti-freeze through the system. 4. Attach the hose and wait for spring. It works for me because I can't get the system to drink on it own.
