Here's a quick sailing video for all those sailors held prisoner by winter...your boats on the hard, snow is a foot deep or more outside, and temperatures are single digits. While it's not the warmest here, the boat remains in the water and ready to go (probably going today as a matter of fact). Now where is that half gallon of Capt. Morgan I just bought? So here's a toast to all....hope you enjoy it... Dick

Dick - Someone needs to hire you....

To do videos promoting sailing....you could make a new Hunter look really good...great job, goes great with the coffee this morning....I keep waiting for the weather to break, so far we haven't been above 52 degrees or so with clouds, how did you get it so warm in Pascagoula?..I'm too thin skinned for that unless I have to...one more of your videos, though, and I'll have to shove off..thanks

Thanks Jim...

It's in the 30's here this morning. Burrr....but it is suppose to climb into the low 60's. Two of my sailing buddies and I are planning a sail today. One has a Tartan 37, the other a Catalina 36. We'll probably sail out to Sand Island, raft together, and have lunch. As long as Mr. Sun will shine we'll be fine. Treat yourself...go for a sail! Thanks again for the comments.... Dick

BRRR

I moved my boat to a new marina yesterday. A lot of wind but on the nose. Since I was alone and itwas cold I just motored. Thank goodness for the autopilot and dodger!!!! But the urge is strong. If I hadn't gottenoff to a late start I'd sailed even if it wasinto the wind. But reality was I didn't want to be out on the lake after dark on a cold night. The days are getting longer!!!!! Hopefully we'll have some 60-70 degree days on Wheeler Lake soon. We had a good sail two weeks ago. Due for another one soon.

Nice video

considering it was -2 when i got up at 7am this morning. the high will be around 8. I just bought myself a video camera, and just can't get enough of other people's video's. Hopefully when the temp warms and the ice leaves us in 5 weeks I can do a sailing video and send it here. thanks

Once again, Cap'n Dick, you have done an excellent job on another video. As always, your my first stop on You Tube to see if any more adventures have been uploaded for all to see. Keep up the good work! Frank

Great Video

Dick Thanks for the Video. It helps with the winter blues. It's about 20 degrees here Sunday morning and temps are predicted to drop into the single numbers tomorrow. It will probably be at least three more months before the sailing season starts here.

great video

Thanks That was one great video, i enjoyed the one I saw a few days ago about your trip with some friends. Looks like you have a good thing going with that group. Your video helps us notherners get the blood flowing and refocuses our thoughts on those long summer days a warm evenings out on the water. It seems so far away for some but we all kno that before we kno it we'll be out doing projects to get the boats ready for another season. Happy Sails

Great video, you got an award!

Nice video Dick, enjoyed it immensely. Did you know that you got an award for most viewed for the day. Went out yessterday for a short three hour sail. Figuring it would be uneventful I left my camera in the truck. Wouldn't you know there was a gray breaching in the Santa Monica bay. He broke water about six times, really amazing. What a great sail. Dick- Loved the video but I have to tell you that 62 degrees in the summer on Lake Superior is when we break out the bikinis....

Nice job

They're better with each version. Keep this up and you'll be doing a full blown Warren Miller(famous skiing vids) style sailing production. I've been thinking about a gimbled vid cam mount on the stern/backstay to capture some footage but still need to do it. Most often we'll bring the vid cam and never break it out because I'm sailing when it gets hairy/interesting and Kelli's not going to run the camera unless everything is peaceful/boring. Letting the cam run on a movable mount and editing the best would solve the issue. This helps motivate me to get to that winter project gimble design. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.
