Winter sailing

Usually, when I head south around Nov. 1, I look forward to working on and sailing the old boat, and to avoiding winter. I think about y’all up north. I monitor the site, enjoying and learning from the discussions.
Alas, you can have the last laugh. You’ve gotten more done on your boats than I have. You’ve also sailed about as much this winter as I have.
This winter was the coldest Florida has seen in 50. Tides have been abnormally low, which means I go no where. To seal me in even more, they started dredging the main canal (300 feet from where Essay is tied up) a week after I got here and finished last week.
Given the state of my elderly gumption, in the next month I’m going to have to shirk the work and cast off lines as often as possible.
