Why is that Gene?
We've got a guy at our club who fancies himself as Shackleton incarnate. He runs our fall/winter 'Shackleton cup series', and even named his tiny Oday 'Endurance'. If it were a bit bigger I bet he would freeze himself on the lake for the winter.

i would assume the ice/snow weighted the boat down below the scupper drains... just gets worse from there.

Indeed. Those same winds (the scirocco) carry red African sand well into the middle of Med. One February day we got absolutely covered with it in Crete.
Thought I had a picture of it... Walking up to the boat from shore-side, the deck looked totally red.

Yesterday on Canyon Lake broke still, foggy and rainy.

But by noon the wind picked up the rain stopped, and the fog blew off. And we had an amazing race, 12 kn all the way down the lake in 17 knots of breeze. No pictures of that. Everyone was pretty busy

After 26 years of being land locked in California's Mojave Desert I'm not going to complain about the Minnesota lakes freezing over for a few months out of the year. I'm just glad that Miss Behavin' is safely out of the weather. (Painting will have to wait for spring.)

Besides, it's not as if I can't still go fishing. :)

(I built the ice house from wood left over from the garage.)
