Winter officially over

Illness, trips abroad, and mostly weather have all delayed the launch by about 45 days.

Here is Halie serviced, cleaned, and waxed behind the new truck. She returns to Pepin Marina, Pepin WI tomorrow for the start of my sailing season.

Launch day was great; Sunny, 70, with 10 MPH winds. The boat is rigged and ready for Memorial Day.

Beautiful boat! I am still working on mine and hope she looks even close to as good as yours does. I just got it used in Sept. so have much to do to set it up inside and out.

hello all

as chief said, beautiful boat... I am still working on mine too... between working all the time and the rain we get almost everyday, I am doing fiberglass work to the keel, then I will paint the bottom and later the top deck.... then i will be ready for sailing... I am hoping to be in the water in a week maybe 2 at the most... that is my goal... I have pushed back the launch and sailing 3 times already.... shorthanded at work, so I am constantly being called back to work.. not complaining about work mind you, I like the monster paychecks... lots of money for my 2 boats, for new electronic hardware....

also I will be moving to the Florida area too.... not sure where yet... I have transfer requests in with the company.... waiting for their descission...

going through sailing dt's right now.... I need to be out on the water, but can't until I finish my work on the boat...

Thanks for the comments. I bought it new in 2002 so it has been easy to keep it looking good.

I spent the last two days on my boat but didn't get the dock lines untied. Working projects to get her seaworthy again. Maybe next month. sigh.

At least I am not alone with doing all these projects. I didn't even set a launch date and its just as well. Its slow going! I did get my solar stern rack installed yesterday and that made me feel better! Now if I only had my reefer installed,air vent.................. Chief

I see many lakes around Edmonton. Which supports a 27' sloop?

Dave,

We are on Wabamun, which has a couple of 30's. It's not the largest lake around, but it's a great sailing lake, not very deep so there's not a lot of fetch, with a "loon poop" bottom. There's three formal clubs on the lake, and one marina, and probably due to the short season, there's not a lot of development beyond private properties, so it's daysail for most folks.
