When I get bored in the winter I tend to go through all the photos I took during the sailing season and try and make sense of them. Well this year I finally did it i created an online sailing gallery. I love to look at sailing pictures onine and figured others might as well. Enjoy these photographs from the Maine Coast... Very dear to my heart

Rod, I have sailed these spots a few times over the last 4 years. They are very dear to my heart. I will pass on your link.

Good shots, lots of memories

I haven't been in the Maine Coastal area, or any parts of Maine for that matter. The photos look very similiar to sailing on the North West Coast - thousands of little harbours and passages. Loved the dog!

I needed that

Thanks for the great pictures. At this time of year it was something that I desperately needed. Too much snow, too much cold, not enough sailing (none). Bring on the warm weather...can't wait.

THANKS Franklin

I get downright discouraged this time of year. It is good to remember that it is not like this all year. Gets light at 0800 and dark at 1600. I miss Texas, too. Count your blessings, Franklin.

We have a different problem

Right now in the middle of winter we can have great sailing with the temperature in the 60's. It is summer that I have come to dread!!! This year the hurricanes came early and stayed late. Late fall until late May is now my favorite time for sailing. We plan to be out sailing New Year's day. The marina is planning a party so we might have a hangover!!! Tom

Same here

I've been dodging thunderstorms and hurricanes all summer and vicious cold fronts all fall. It's time to go sailing. See you in May. Peter H23 "Raven"

LOVE the galleries

Rod, My eyes bugged out when I saw your photos. They are indeed most excellent. On my site, www.boatmaine.us, we have free downloadable calendars. Could I have permission to select a few of your photos for those calendars? We would give you full credit and include your name, copyright and link to your site. We would also include your site on our featured sites page. Rick

Doldrums?

Nice pics.. This year I'm fighting the 'winter blahs' by working on the dock. Right now, the water's real hard...about an 8" 'crust' in the whole basin. I'm replacing the fenderboards on the dock posts and on the tie off posts between the docks...much easier to do on the ice than on a float...and...if you drop a tool or part, you can just reach down and pick it up. Late in February or early March, before the ice goes away, I'll pick a nice sunny day when the temp is above freezing and get it all painted. Again, much easier when you can get down and walk around everything. I'll wait until it warms up in April before I paint the walking surfaces, but everything I have to get down on my hands and knees or lay down to reach will be done. Also, I took off alot of wood trim to refinish in the comfort of my basement. Plenty to do. Boat work I do now, I won't have to do on those good sailing days later....:)
