Hi I am back again asking the same question I asked a few days ago. I am looking for a set of plans for building a winter cradle for a 1994 Hunter 30 T. The last time I asked the question it was suggested that I contact Hunter corp. I did but got no rsponse to my inquirey. The problem that I am now facing with is: I have only got three weeks left to get the information and get it built so for me the pressure is on. I need a set of plans like "yesterday" (if you know what I mean). Any help would be greatly appreciated. All best Lee

Yep

First of all, the main weight of your boat will rest on the keel. The pads are mainly to balance the boat. To prove a point, I can lower a portion of my pads at one time or another to paint the bottom of my boat. Second, you need sufficient number of pads to allow you to drop 2 and still have a third to balance that side when you are bottom painting. Okay, in reality you only need two on a side, but three make it much more reasonable. Three, the pads are logically neat the center weight point (fore and aft), one then forward - half way to the bow, and one half way to the stern . . . perhaps 60 % would give you more comfort. As mentioned in an earlier response, I will be happy to send you pictures of 30s, 32s, and 34s on trailers. These show clearly where the pads are set. If you want to build your cradle wider than these trailers, feel free to do so, but it isn't necessary. Email me directly (email is listed in the directory) if you want additional information, or specific measurements . . . . However, this is not an exact science type of problem.
