I'm in the market for a winter cover for my O'Day 28 that I keep in CT and am trying to figure out how good a cover I should get since I plan to be moving to NC after 2 seasons and perhaps boats don't even get covered down in New Bern?

A simple blue poly would be fine. A simple trick is once fastened using the grommets in the cover , wrap a line around the outside of the boat, cover and all. Do several wraps like you would tie up your main in the face of a big storm. This will keep the cover secure on the boat and prevent the cover from flogging the boat and tearing apart. The frame can be what ever you want
