We have been having some real windy days here in the Antelope Valley,
CA. Everytime I get a day off the wind is blowing but today it layed down and I headed for the lake for a day of sailing. I did have to reef and roll in the Genoa after noon because the lake started white capping. Still it was a GREAT DAY! My GPS showed me traveling over 20 miles in 6 hours.
I made the run to the marina "Wing On Wing".:D:D

Doing what you did is a really big thing. Big wind is always going to happen and is the best of all sailing conditions in my world. As you learn sail handling and boat action in those winds it opens a new style of sailing.
Everytime I go out on my San Juan 23 in that kind of wind I thank the sailing Gods for the experence. It gets no better.
Enjoy your world of sailing. You have the courage to test yourself and that says it all.
