Window unit air conditioner through quarter berth/lazarette wall?

I read of one example of this, sounds cheap and easy. Open the lazarette when in use. Lose a little storage, save a ton of money. Anyone here tried it?

Cheap - yes. Easy - yes. People do that. Remember to put on your noise canceling ear muffs, collect the condensate frequently and stow it securely every time you go sailing

I have a small window unit I just put it in the companion way at night cut some boards to go around the sides condensate just runs off the cockpit floor

Cheap and easy on a sailboat is seldom a good thing.
