We have a 2004 catalina 350 and are looking for a replacement pleated shade. The dog chewed one of them and I can't seem to find where to get a new one. Anyone have ideas? The new ones through catalinadirect are not the same.

A Catalina of that age can be easy to find replacements for. Contact Catalina in Largo and ask for Roy in parts department. He can let you know who supplies the parts they use and give you a phone number. A simple phone call and you are hooked up with the original part.
Lisa Cayce is now the person to ask for in the CY parts department - she replaced Ken Roy.

The original shades in our boats and those from CD and other retailers used to be made by a place called Odyssey Sails in Newport Beach, CA that also made sails for Potters. They just simply disappeared a few years ago, they used to be the only source for the trapezoidal pleated shades in the forepeak. Most retailers now offer shades from Ocean Products which are different but are good if their available sizes and colors work.
Maybe the factory has NOS or new supplier, I haven't thought to look and see what's on the new boats. Otherwise I'm gonna try the folks Don recommended next time.
