The reseal kits do go in easy on original glass. The original glass on my 1970 was clear 3/16 laminated. My original intent was to use the old glass, I cracked one taking the glass out of the frame. When I purchased replacement 3/16 clear I discovered it was just a little bit thicker, this did create a problem with the reseal kit. The weather stripping was almost impossible to set. I cracked another piece of glass. At that point I elected to have tinted 3/16 laminated glass put in the frames. I took the frames to my glass guy he custom cut the glass and set them in the frames. Used black sealant not the rubber weather stripping. They look great and are water tight. I hope this helps.
