port replacement

Last year I ordered a new window from Hunter , it was in the 80 dollar range if I remember, they shipped it with a black caulk , very messy stuff, there is black tape on the existing window that the new one does not have, anyhow I removed all of the old black caulk cleaned up everything and then redid the caulk , there is so much of this used because the window has bend to fit the boat, so you have thicker caulk in some areas than others. at least I did ,seems like at this point I used a putty knife to get it all spread around , so once the new window is on be extremely careful not to over tighten the screws like I did because I cracked the brand new window . then I caulk the outside with a white caulk , life caulk I think I cant tell you the name of the black stuff but I did see someone post it here within the last few weeks also suggestions for install, hope this helps , if you want to ask more or I did not explain well enough email me , mmsailor@sol.com good luck Mike Bacome
