Window install on curved cabin

I just recieved my new windows from Cruising Concepts yesterday and was wondering how other people hold plexiglass windows which are flat to a curved cabin wall as on my Catalina 30 nead to hold for at least 24 hours untill sealant sets up

Rented commercial glass suction cups,applied them on interior side put pipe thru handles and wedged in place.worked great

You can drill holes to insert screws. This will allow you to keep the material in place until the sealant cures. Once the curing cycle has occured you can remove the screws and fill the holes with a little sealant and you should be done.

We use Dow795 to hold them in place. I believe that Sika also makes a similar product.

Structural glazing tape or 3M VHB tape with a structural silicone bead. Holds windows in skyscrapers just fine. The portlights in my boat too.

I think you should 1st glue some stand-off on the window edge or plexi so that you won't squeeze out the sealant and it'll form a gasket layer.

Mine were about 36" long. I place them on a block of wood at each end then used hot water and towels to keep the heat on. set a weight in the middle till you get a bend about the same as the curve you need. When it cools down the curve will hold. Then I used a couple of U bolts to clamp a long 2x4 between two stanchions and cut short pieces to go from 2x4 to window. I used one at each end and one in the middle. Once I had all that the right size / length I put the sealant on and let it sit over night. Worked perfectly. I used the dow corning stuff, 795 I think.
