Just purchased our 240 last August. First ever. One thing I've been thinking about is some way to cover up the windows on the inside. We spend long week-ends on the boat.I would appreciate any suggestions.

We Are Doing it Right Now
My wife is sewing curtains for the side and foward windows of our 23.5. I am going to attach them using shock cord and eye straps. I will post pictures when it is complete.

Valance curtains
I have an H26. I just used 15" curtain valances on round rods screwed into the fiberglas. I used 2 sets (I think they were 48") on each side. I bunched them up in the middle space and the foward end. 1-48" in the space after the small opening and 1-48" @ the narrow end. When I draw the curtains I pull the first one left & right and the one @ the narrow end gets pulled to meet the first one in the middle. Same on the other side. Cost was less than $15. The curtain across the V-berth I had custom made out of denim using the old stock curtains as a model--cost was $30. for material--$125. for labor. The head was $5.--using 1 valance.

Peek a Boo shutters
Joyce, I just purchased a 2000 Hunter 240 and want to cover our windows. found the perfect solution. Just visit http://www.sail2000.com and click on Peek a Boo privacy light shutters. I called the company and they can custom make the shutters that stick on the inside of the windows. We like the look and function of these windows. What they require is for you to use tracing paper and trace out each window. Unfortunately, they don't have the measurements for the windows on a Hunter 240. In the future, with my order, they will.

Hi there. I bought my 34 in September and it had no window coverings. I looked and looked and to no avail. Then I found something that worked beautifully!! It is a company called ship shades in Mass. I did all of my business throught the phone and the fax!! If you want to email me I can look up the address for you. I swear by these and will put these on all my boats!! We're making lenses
that will fit inside the port lens. They are made from one of the translucent sheets that are used to cover light fixtures in dropped ceilings. It's a Home Depot thing that's thin plastic and can be cut with a jigsaw. It'll be attached with velcro "coins" and a little string on the side so it can be pulled out. It still allows light in, gives privacy at the dock and doesn't have to be moved to open the port. It'll cost about $8 for up to 8 ports (yup, a buck apiece.)
