Anyone know off hand what, if any periodic maintenance is needed on the Maxwell windless? Used mine for the 2nd time in three years yesterday and it kept popping the breaker and or stalling out? A pull on the tailing line would get it going. I'm here for a few days and great time to do service

I'd check for a weak battery and loose or corroded electrical connections first. Might also be a good time to drop the motor and check the brushes as well as drop the gearbox. Look to see if the gearbox turns without binding up and replace the gear oil. If it's leaking, seal kits are available.
Oh, and clean and grease the clutch cone/cones while you're at it!

PM required from my Maxwell VC 500 manual:

Prior to season: Remove above deck components and grease. Clean with kerosene then spray with CRC 3097 or CRC 6-66 or WD-40.

Each 6 mo and end of season repeat above.

Every three years remove gear box, drain oil, clean, and refill with SAE 90 (Shell Omaha 320 or Castrol Alpha SP320)
