I f i get a windlass for my boat such as a Lowfrans progress 1000 below deck mount without the capstan how hard is it to remove the anchor line and feed another line through it to run forward and then up to a pulley up on the mast to hoist my dinghy out of the water?

We have a Cadet 3'-10" air floor and have never found a need to use anything but "yanking" it up by hand over the port bow.

I really think you're over-thinking this unless you have a severe personal disability. In which case, I apologize.

The dink weighs 70# and I just pull it up. No lines, no halyards, no anything.

I have a 4 part tackle that I hoist up with my spinnaker halyard to a pre determined height then use the tackle to hoist the dinghy out of the water. Don't know if that would be good enough for your back. Mine isn't so good either after four very hard helicopter ditchings.
